Invenergy Welcomes Michigan Community Leaders for a Calhoun Solar Site Visit

Calhoun Solar, Invenergy’s first solar project in Michigan which achieved commercial operations in late April 2023, recently welcomed a group of approximately 40 visitors for a site visit. A University of Michigan faculty member, in collaboration with the Michigan Township Association, coordinated the visit, attracting community stakeholders from numerous Michigan townships, including legal professionals involved in zoning and development processes.

The purpose of the visit was to provide an educational and up-close look at a large solar development, and to address questions from potential host communities regarding the implementation of renewable energy projects in the state of Michigan.

Educational visits like the Calhoun tour highlight Invenergy’s focus on local welfare, encourage participation from a diverse group of stakeholders, and offer valuable insights into the priorities and needs of host communities.
